Seedobot

A robot that can save us from the perils of deforestation!

‘Seedobot’, a prototype robot based on solar energy which can be

deployed in the deforested or a barren land (say after forest fires)

to plan afforestation. It has been programmed using

Arduino UNO, sensors and servo motors. The robot would

drop a seed in a line path at a gap of 1 meter (can be adjusted)

and move on. If any obstacle is in its path,

within a range of 1 meter, it will change its direction.

This robot is effective where human intervention is zero or nearly impossible.

With all the natural conditions in place, the seed would germinate.

We can aim for afforestation in areas where risk of soil erosion

is least. Even if we aim for 40-50% successful germination, most of

the green cover loss can be recovered- which otherwise would

remain barren.
